So, here it is. Leandi is my spring and summer of 2009. More specifically it’s my most sincere release in a very long time.

It’s the result of looking at the creation process in a different light, without engaging in reasoning and just letting the music come as it may.

Normally I would venture into more ambient landscapes and experimental sounds, but I wanted this release to be simple and open.

Heavily inspired by childhood, fatherhood, watching my son grow up, play, communicate and learn the ways of the world.

Leandi is free to download, because in these times it’s important to me that it is. It’s my way of giving something back, and I hope you will enjoy it!

That said, have a listen and let me know what you think :)

Thanks to ~

Anne for encouraging me to make music and for listening and helping me shape the early drafts.

Ossi (Planet Boelex) for all the sincere feedback, for the final mastering and for the superb work on Nanomies.

Niklas Nummelin for the excellent work on the Tickles-track, bigger projects ahead, yes?

Antti (fthr productions) for the artwork, you truly captured the mood of the music, kiitos.

Also, thanks to Johan Elm for encouraging the old school, and to Peter Hippeläinen for the new school.

dude! fucking nailed it yet again! :) Have loved all your releases. Still to this day, Pillow Dance remains one of my favourite tracks of all time. Listening to it on a cloudy/rainy day just brings so much happyness, it’s gorgeous!

Fav new track off this one is the Namonies collab with PB. Love all his work too! Melo is just plain lush as well. Congrats on some great music and many thanks for the free download. Look forward to hearing all future releases from you :D

    thank you, all :)
your encouraging comments and feedback is much appreciated!

the tracks i thought were the weakest turned out to be favoured by many, and that’s just great to hear.

i haven’t put a lot of work into technical details on this release, on the contrary i have tried to not overwork any of the tracks.
i went with harmonies and melodies that somehow speaks to me, and i built rather simple arrangements around them.

some tracks are quite retro-sounding, which is not deliberate. i suppose it’s my true roots surfacing and i have no intention of holding any influences back :)

and thanks again to everyone who contributed.
the work by planet boelex and niklas nummelin is exceptional and i’m hoping to do many more collaboration in the future :)

I’ve been a big fan of your music for years now, ever since I accidentally downloaded Rubik around the year…2002 I think.
There is just something about your harmonies and melodies that really speaks to me, I have no idea how you do it :P
I’m into music production as a hobby myself and you’re probably my biggest inspiration.

As always your newest release does not disappoint. All the songs are awesome, Sporel and the title track Leandi would have to be my favourites but they’re all fantastic.
    Great work ;)

  22. Posted September 30, 2009 at 14:56 | Permalink

I have to agree with alkaenn. I’ve been listening to your music since 1997 or so. Your music is not only great, it makes my soul vibrate – or something like that. :) Perhaps it reflects my introvert contemplating personality and childish curiosity. When I listen to your songs I am one with the music. Thank you.

I cranked your music up for testing over a JBL VERTEC system at 105 db and it sounded so good everyone kept coming over asking what the music was. I had my video guy post your website up on the video wall. I hope this brings you fortune sir! Awesome!

I discovered your music through Planet Boelex’s newsletter, really great stuff. The bassline in Leandi and the synth brass sound in Sporel always make me smile :)

  31. Posted October 9, 2009 at 11:35 | Permalink

Fantastic. Fuck I love the textures wrought through your music. After a hard day of work… this really detoxifies. Damn, you’re going to make me donate again! Anyone who enjoys you should donate! Keep up the profound work my friend!

  32. Posted October 10, 2009 at 16:46 | Permalink

I have listened to Leandi on YouTube countless times, and the same goes for Melo on Soundcloud. I’m really glad that now I can enjoy the FLAC versions of these two tracks, as well as the rest of this album.

I don’t know what else to say that hasn’t been said already. I’ve always been a fan and you are probably the only musician from the old scene days whom I follow to this day, eagerly awaiting new tunes.

Thank you for sharing your work with us. Keep doing what you’re doing because you are – simply – the best.
